Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to Eddie the Yeti. My name is Christopher Scott, and I’m truly glad you’re here. Eddie the Yeti is a children’s hockey book series created for hockey kids ages eight and under, but at its heart, it’s really about much more than hockey. It’s about character, confidence, and helping young players grow into good teammates and good humans—both on and off the ice.
Like many parents and coaches, I’ve spent countless hours at the rink watching young players learn the game. Youth hockey is an incredible teacher. It builds friendships, discipline, resilience, and a sense of belonging. But it can also be challenging—for kids and parents alike. There are wins and losses, good games and tough ones, moments of excitement and moments of frustration. I wanted to create something that helps kids make sense of all of that in a way that feels fun, encouraging, and easy to understand.
That’s where Eddie comes in!
Eddie the Yeti is a lovable, determined character who plays hockey alongside his pals Arney the Moose and Chuck the Beaver. Together, they face the same challenges young players face every day: learning new skills, working hard at practice, supporting teammates, handling mistakes, and believing in themselves when things don’t go perfectly. Through their stories, kids see that improvement doesn’t happen overnight—and that effort, attitude, and teamwork truly matter.
The books focus on teaching strong morals and values such as sportsmanship, hard work, perseverance, respect, and family. Each story is designed to gently introduce a life lesson and show how it applies not only on the ice, but also at home and at school. Whether it’s learning to listen to a coach, helping a teammate who’s struggling, or understanding that practice is just as important as game day, Eddie’s stories connect hockey lessons to everyday life.
One of the most important ideas behind Eddie the Yeti is that kids don’t need to be perfect to succeed—they just need to keep trying. Mistakes are part of learning. Confidence grows from effort. And success looks different for every child. By presenting these ideas through characters and stories rather than lectures, the goal is to help kids absorb these lessons naturally, while still having fun reading.
Parents often tell me that they enjoy reading Eddie the Yeti just as much as their kids do. That means a lot to me. These books are meant to spark conversations between parents and children—about effort, attitude, teamwork, and what it really means to do your best. They’re also written with coaches in mind, offering stories that align with the values many youth programs try to reinforce throughout the season.
Eddie the Yeti is still growing, and so is this community. Whether you’re a parent, coach, or young hockey player, I hope these stories bring encouragement, smiles, and a reminder that the lessons learned through hockey can last a lifetime.
Thanks again for being here—and welcome to the world of Eddie the Yeti.
